A sports event that changes perceptions about mental health through sport. Dream Euro Cup 2024 is the first European futsal championship for people with mental health problems.
Co-funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Sport Programme, DEC2024 held in Rome from September 23 to 28, 2024, in coincidence with the European Week of Sport.
The Championship
A week-long futsal spectacle wasn’t just about goals and saves; it’s about breaking down barriers and fostering inclusivity. 12 teams represented 12 European countries igniting the pitch with their passion, skill, and determination.
Guided by the official futsal rules, each match showcased athleticism while serve as a platform for spreading awareness and understanding about mental health.
The International Congress
Under the provisional title “Psychiatric Rehabilitation Through Sport: Strategies, Tools, and Best Practices” the accompanying congress is a beacon of knowledge and innovation. Mental health professionals and sports technicians from around the globe converged to explore the profound connection between sport and mental well-being. Together we shared actionable strategies for seamless integration between mental health services and sports initiatives, ensuring a holistic approach to healing and empowerment.
