We organized a city orienteering game, to promote teamwork, physical movement, and awareness of the beautifulness around you. Our motivation for this was that we had so much fun playing this kind of game in Riga, and we wanted to bring that experience back with us to Vienna.
After a fresh snowfall in November 2025 we had a beautiful start in the Green Heart of the City. It was a true sightseeing experience with points distributed through prater’s green areas, prater amusement park, wien university campus, Stuwerviertel neighborhood, Mexikoplatz and the Danube shore.
All participants declared having so much fun during the whole process, from building their own strategy by studying the map, to searching for the clues along the game’s designated area.
We think the main strength of this kind of game is the teamwork environment that was created. The beautiful game area, which even the participants that live in Vienna appreciated were Stuwerviertel neighborhood which is not an extremely popular and touristic area despite its beauty.
We believe the amount of time given to participants (1 hour) was the right one, since it allowed everyone to enjoy to the right extent without rushing and enjoying promptly the sights.

We think the game was a big success and the participant’s reaction was very good. Given the fact that it is not a very physically demanding activity, it can be played by people from all age groups, and the environment tends to be more laid back than purely competitive, leading to a very sporty behavior among participants. It works for every age group as well, therefore it’s inclusive nature is great for any groups who wish to participate.
We definitely recommend this game for improving values as team work, physical activity, or awareness of your surroundings. A mindful presence while collaborating with our peers in a fun way.
