Stress and depression can have a profound impact on women’s lives, especially those facing fewer opportunities. Recognizing this issue, the W.E.Y.A.T. (Women Empowerment via Yoga, AcroYoga, and Tai Chi) project aims to empower young women and mothers aged 21 and above through the practice of Yoga, AcroYoga, and Tai Chi. By promoting self-healing and self-empowerment methods, the project seeks to enhance resilience, stress management, and mindfulness in women facing depression and anxiety.

The WEYAT project targets women and mothers from disadvantaged backgrounds, providing them with free access to classes in their home countries. With a minimum impact goal of reaching 50 women, the project aims to empower them by offering guidance and support in the form of 15 short videos and guidelines for practising Yoga, AcroYoga, and Tai Chi. These resources will foster self-empowerment, healing, trust, and stress reduction.

The project emphasises the development of stillness, balance, and peace of mind through self-awareness and self-care. Through the practice of AcroYoga, women will also build a supportive community based on connection, trust, and mutual support. By creating a network of empowered women, the WEYAT project aims to foster inclusion and community development.

The WEYAT project is a collaborative effort coordinated by MOVE to Be You with three partner organisations from Poland, Turkey, and the Czech Republic. These organisations will work together to achieve the project’s goals, including the provision of Yoga, AcroYoga, and Tai Chi classes, as well as the development of educational resources for self-empowerment and stress reduction.
